The prevalence of human behavior in terms of romance, attraction, desire, and/or crude behavior, either solicited or otherwise, is as ubiquitous as technology in our daily lives.
This exhibition seeks to explore our day to day interactions online, on social media, and other technological platforms regarding human emotional and/or sexual behavior.
Artists are cordially invited to submit images of works that address this theme in any interpretation they consider relevant.. Works in all media including digital and film are encouraged, and all submissions will be given equal consideration.
SUBMISSION AND PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT:
Submissions are open to artists from all backgrounds, lifestyles and world views working in any medium. Works must be the original work of the artist and relate to the call theme in any way the artist deems fit. We cannot accept oversized works due to space limitations and door openings otherwise there are no size requirements. Image submissions should accurately reflect the work it depicts. The gallery reserves the right to disqualify accepted works if the actual work strays significantly from the image submitted.
• Completed entry form (online submission required)
• Digital images formatted and labeled as directed and any linked video/interactive work referenced on the entry form.
• Fee paid via PayPal (payable to firstname.lastname@example.org)
For any questions regarding the prospectus, entry fee or submissions, or any other inquiries please contact the gallery at email@example.com
ONCE WORK IS SELECTED:
PUBLICATION: Selected works may be featured in promotional material in print and/or online. The gallery may retain the submitted images of accepted artwork and reserves the right to use the images in publications and gallery publicity. Artists will be notified of acceptance and intention to use images before any use by the gallery is implemented. Beyond such use, the artist retains full copyright of exhibited work and images. All images used will have proper photo credential and artist information.
Selected artists will be contacted to discuss potential interest in and possibilities for limited edition prints of selected work to be showcased and made available by the gallery online and in-store.
DELIVERY AND RETURN OF WORK:
All work accepted for the exhibition must arrive ready to install. Work may be hand delivered or shipped. Shipped works must be sent in a reusable container/packaging with return shipping prepaid. Works will be returned in the same manner as delivered or via UPS/USPS. All work must arrive at the gallery by the specified date (see calendar below). Accepted work will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. The artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery.
Works will be insured while on gallery premises. Insurance covers theft, vandalism, damage caused by gallery patrons or staff (in accordance with insurance policy). Insurance does not cover damage caused during shipping due to any reason, including mishandling by carrier or failure of packaging to protect works in transit. In general artists should have their works insured with the shipping carrier, and/or obtain personal insurance that covers works sent for this exhibit and any future ventures as well. Also not covered is damage caused to work by failure of the work itself, its mounting hardware as installed or provided by the artist, flaking or chipping or other degradation due to materials or craftsmanship, or incidental damage to works that involve artist directed installation or display procedures. All accepted work will be inspected by professional art handlers prior to installation and condition report will be documented. For any claims the artist may be required to provide proof of value.
SALE OF ARTWORK:
Artworks are not required to be for sale in order to be included in our exhibitions. If you wish to not offer your work for sale at the exhibition simply indicate “NFS” in the price field on image list. This will not affect the gallery’s selection process. Eighteen Fifteen will retain a standard commission of 40% of the sale price on all artwork sold during the exhibition. Artists will set their sale price on the entry form and should consider all overhead costs in doing so. Sale price and status cannot be changed after the deadline to submit.
